Incident Site

The incident site refers to the scene of the emergency or event. In some instances, there may be multiple emergency sites. The Incident Commander is the senior person of the first service or responders arriving and the role is transferred to more senior members or more appropriate organizations as the situation warrants. The Director of Emergency Management confirms the Incident Commander or brings in a more suitable person at the first opportunity.

The Incident Commander is responsible for establishing an on-site Incident Command Post, coordinating the overall on-scene response and establishing communication between the site and the emergency coordination centre.
